Myreapmoney.com is published by R & A Media Limited, a member of the R & A Group. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
It applies to myreapmoney.com and is written to meet our obligations under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Readers in the United Kingdom and the European Union also have rights under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, which we honour.
What we collect
Newsletter subscriptions
When you sign up for The MyReapMoney Briefing, we store the email address you give us, together with the page you signed up from and the date. We use it only to send you the newsletter. We do not sell or rent our subscriber list, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to remove you at any time using the contact details below, and we will delete your address.
Comments
If you leave a comment, we store the name and email address you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser’s user agent string. The IP address and user agent help us detect spam. Your name and comment are shown publicly; your email address and IP address are not.
Accounts
Accounts on this site are for our editorial staff and contributors. If you hold one, we store your name, email address and the profile details you choose to add, such as a biography and links to your professional profiles. Information you put in an author profile is shown publicly on your author page and alongside your articles.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs, which record IP addresses, pages requested and timestamps. These are used to operate the site securely and to diagnose faults.
Cookies
We use cookies only where they are needed for the site to work:
- If you leave a comment, you may opt to save your name and email address in a cookie so you do not have to type them again.
- If you log in, we set cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you choose “Remember Me”. They are removed when you log out.
We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Third parties
Avatars. Comment and author avatars are served by Gravatar, a service operated by Automattic. An anonymised version of your email address is sent to Gravatar so it can return the right image. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available on its own website.
Advertising. Advertisements on this site are supplied by our advertisers and served from our own servers. Where an advertiser’s own code is used in future and it sets cookies or collects data, we will say so here.
Embedded content. Articles may include embedded content such as videos or social media posts. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that website, and those sites may collect data about you and use cookies.
How long we keep information
- Newsletter addresses — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Comments — indefinitely, so that follow-up replies remain readable in context.
- Account details — for as long as the account exists.
Your rights
You can ask us to: give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you; correct it if it is wrong; delete it; or stop using it for a particular purpose. Where we rely on your consent — as we do for the newsletter — you can withdraw that consent at any time.
We will respond to any request within 30 days. These rights do not extend to information we are required to keep for legal or accounting reasons, or to material published as journalism, where data protection law provides an exemption.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including restricting access to subscriber details to site administrators. No website can promise perfect security, but we will tell affected people and the relevant authority without undue delay if a breach puts personal information at risk.
Children
This site is intended for a business and professional readership. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information — for example by adding analytics or an email delivery provider — we will update this page and change the date below.
Contact us
For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights described above, write to us through our contact page.
